see related6 Word Philosophy of Life
Amy http://osbornz.net/amy/ tagged me! The challenge is to describe your life philosophy in 6 words.6 words?! Only 6 words?!!? Yikes!!!
I thought for a while and a verse in Matthew 6 came to me and fit perfectly both with the rules and in describing how I have tried to live my life. I was quite happy with it but made the mistake of looking to see what other people had come up with and discovered that the person who originally tagged Amy, already took my answer. OH, NO! I tried to come up with something else. After wracking my brain for a while and coming up with several sayings that were catchy but didn't seem quite right I realized that my first answer was the one that truly fit me so I decided to stick with it after all.
Seek first the kingdom of God
This philosophy is based on Matthew 6:33 which says, "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you." I have learned that when I seek God's kingdom first, life can be hard and challenging but it is also amazing and fulfilling and full of joy. When I put self first I find that life is also hard and challenging but I am miserable and angry about everything that doesn't go my way. I get bogged down by circumstances and have no perspective on the situation. When I put me first, I just make a mess of everything. I have learned that when I seek God's kingdom first, things will work out in the end. Oh, not always the way I wanted, but they work out for good. They just do!
While my life has been full of difficulties and challenges, God has never let me down. Although, I admit that in the midst of the challenges I've sometimes felt let down and doubted that God could make something good come out of the situation. No, a happy ending doesn't always happen, people we love die, relationships are broken, scars remain, some things that have happened leave an ache that will probably not completely go away this side of eternity. But somehow, through it all God works it out for good...not always happy...but good and right...an ending that leaves hope, faith, peace, and joy.
So everyone, here are the rules:1. Link to the person who tagged you. Amy http://osbornz.net/amy/ Check!
2. Post the rules. Check!
3. Share a 6 word philosophy of life Check!
4. Tag 3 other people
So I think I will tag!

While I can only tag three people, I would be interested in hearing answers from others as well. If anyone else does this, let me know, I’d love to see your answer! If you don’t have a Xanga account email me and I will put your answer in the comment section. If you have a blog and want me to link to it let me know, otherwise I'll just put your name and answer.

If it fits you - I'm glad you kept it! You and Theresa are in good company! :)
Ruth F. responded. Thank you Ruth!!!
Here is her philosophy of life in six words:
Only six words….think, think, think…
Show love in everything you do.1 Corinthians 16:14 (Contemporary English Version)
I may not always succeed, but this is my goal and philosophy. I learned this past weekend in the seminar, that it is not possible to love well, if we do not feel well-loved. What an eye-opener!
Ok, kinda cheating her- but only six words>?!
I would have to say
Put all your hope in God- which is a paraphrase of my favorite bible verse-
Trust in the LORD with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. Proverbs 3:5
I don't always succeed- but I am blessed when I do!
ok, to cheat a bit more-
My other favorite scripture/map for life breaks down toI have a plan for you or as Jeremiah 29:11 says-For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil,to give you a future and a hope.
I definitely try to follow God's plan for my life- He has done a great job so far!
I know, I know- I cheated, but just six words?!
@meldaydreams - Thanks Melinda. That's a great philosophy and I don't think you cheated at all.
